OPF (Optical Preset Filter) is a camera lens filter designed to layer sensation into photography by controlling specific wavelengths of light, bringing clarity, airiness, and subtle nuance into the image.

With an optical design targeting wavelengths around 480 nanometers, OPF refines the characteristics of blue light, enhancing transparency while shaping highlights and overall tonal balance.

Two diffusion types are available: S / L, each offering a different level of light spread. L (Light) introduces a more expressive diffusion, creating clearer changes in highlight bloom and a gentle expansion of light across the frame, while maintaining the cool, transparent character of the image.

As a BASE filter within the Layer-X system, OPF 480-L is designed for everyday use—a reference filter that emphasizes openness and clarity, while allowing expressive layers to build naturally on top.

OPF (Optical Preset Filter) is an optical camera lens filter created to layer into photographs the sensations we perceive with our senses—
the glare of light a camera cannot fully capture, the changing angle and intensity of light shaped by time and season,
and the color and temperature of the air that surrounds a scene.

It combines the gentle softness of light found in film photography with the clarity and resolution unique to digital imaging.
The result is depth and aftertaste that cannot be reproduced through digital processing alone.

Diffusion Glass is an optical glass designed to subtly diffuse light, creating a natural sense of spread and lingering afterglow.

To serve as a foundation for today’s high-resolution cameras and lenses, its surface accuracy is refined to the extreme, allowing both clarity and softness to coexist.

Light spreads gently through space without excessive bloom, retaining its contours and definition.
The expressive qualities of OPF and CDF are supported by the inherent characteristics of this glass.

Optical Preset Coating

Presetting how light responds.

Optical Preset Coating is a coating that precisely controls the balance of reflection and transmission across different wavelengths of light through multilayer dielectric films.

Within the visible spectrum, certain components respond sensitively to changes in the intensity and angle of incoming light.

This coating is tuned so that natural variations occur in response to those changes in light strength and angle.

Rather than adding or replacing color, it acts directly on the process of light passing through the lens, creating conditions in which the visual impression of light is rendered in a stable and consistent manner at the moment of capture.

Layer-X BASE Frame

High-Strength Base Frame Designed for Expandability

Attaches securely to the front of the lens via a threaded mount.

A lens cap can be fitted firmly over the base filter.
Constructed from lightweight yet durable 6061 aluminum, offering strong resistance to distortion.

Neodymium magnets are built into the frame, enabling one-touch attachment and removal of PLUS filters such as ND, CPL, and Cross filters whenever needed.

Hydro Shield Coating

Hydro Shield Coating for everyday use

Hydro Shield Coating is a water- and stain-resistant coating that helps keep the filter surface clean.

Water droplets, dirt, and fingerprints are less likely to adhere, and can be removed easily with a light wipe—making it comfortable to use in outdoor shooting and daily situations.

By keeping the glass surface stable, it allows the performance of both the glass and the coating to be drawn out naturally, at all times.

Layer-X BASE Filter

Layer-X BASE Filter is an optical filter that attaches to the front of the lens using a standard screw-in mount.
The front surface is equipped with both a built-in magnetic structure and a threaded mount, allowing PLUS filters such as ND, CPL, or cross filters to be layered when needed.
In addition to magnetic PLUS filters, standard lens caps and conventional screw-in filters can also be attached, so the handling remains familiar in everyday use.
The BASE filter blends naturally into daily shooting and serves as the starting point of the Layer-X system, expanding how light can be handled to suit different shooting styles.
