About CDF

CDF (Cinematic Diffusion Filter) is designed to layer light spread and afterglow into photos and video.

Built upon the high resolution and sharp rendering of modern cameras and lenses, it gently adds the subtle fluctuation and sense of distance that light carries as it travels through space.

A faint bloom around highlights.
A smooth gradation between light and shadow.
Points of light beginning to feel like planes.

Diffusion Glass for shaping the boundary of light

The Diffusion Glass used in CDF is an optical glass designed to act specifically on the boundary between light and shadow.
Rather than softening resolution or fine detail, it gently diffuses light around highlights, smoothing areas where brightness would otherwise shift too abruptly.

It is precisely polished to maintain high surface accuracy, built on the assumption of high-resolution sensors and high-performance lenses.

Double-Sided Ultra-Low Reflection NanoAR Coating

NanoAR Coating is an ultra-low reflection coating applied to both sides of the filter.
It suppresses unwanted reflections to an extreme degree, allowing light to pass through as naturally as possible.

By minimizing reflections from both surfaces, NanoAR Coating creates an optical environment where only the light behavior intended by the Diffusion Glass is rendered—cleanly, quietly, and without interference.

Layer-X — A new layered filter system

The Layer-X System by TOKYO GRAPHER is a lens filter system built on a new layered structure, consisting of a screw-in BASE filter and optional PLUS filters that stack on top.

Each filter can be used on its own, and thanks to the built-in magnet on the front of the BASE filter, PLUS filters such as ND, CPL, and cross filters can be quickly attached or removed as needed.

Layer-X PLUS filters are scheduled for release in late January 2026.

Hydro Shield Coating for everyday use

Hydro Shield Coating is a water- and stain-resistant coating that helps keep the filter surface clean.
Water droplets, dirt, and fingerprints are less likely to adhere, and can be removed easily with a light wipe—making it comfortable to use in outdoor shooting and daily situations.

By keeping the glass surface stable, it allows the performance of both the glass and the coating to be drawn out naturally, at all times.

Reliable Repair Service

To help you enjoy your OPF / CDF filters for many years, we offer a dedicated repair and replacement service.

If the filter glass is damaged, the glass can be replaced for approximately 25% of the original product price.
If both the glass and the filter frame require replacement, the cost is approximately 50% of the product price.

This service is designed to keep your filters in use longer, without unnecessary replacement.
