I loaded my favorite original Land Rover Defender 90 with my camera and my dog.
I carefully capture moments spent in nature with the FUJIFILM X‑E4 and the F2 Trio (XF18mm / XF35mm / XF50mm).
“Being able to shoot freely the moment you feel it’s right is important.”
I only adjust the aperture and exposure compensation; the rest I leave to the camera.
For enjoying photography in everyday life, that’s just enough—
this style truly lets you feel the atmosphere of the moment.
I want to capture images that feel like memories etched in the mind rather than just the scenery before my eyes—
we asked @yama_free about the precious “photo-taking moments” he values.

Q. What camera and lenses are you using, and why did you choose the X‑E4?
A. Since the start of this year, I’ve been going all-in with the X‑E4 and the F2 Trio (XF18mm F2 / XF35mm F2 / XF50mm F2), haha.
Honestly, I chose them simply because they’re small and let me swap lenses (laughs).
Their compact size is a lifesaver, and for social‑media posts, APS‑C is more than enough.
Noise isn’t too much of a concern, and at the end of the day, having something “small enough to carry, yet a bit more polished-looking” is key to keeping the fun alive in daily life.
I love the classic camera shape—it’s not a smartphone, and that matters to me.

Q. What do you value most when taking photos, and what settings do you pay attention to?
A. “Being able to shoot at the moment you feel it’s great,” I guess.
I try to eliminate anything that gets in the way—weight, complicated settings—as much as possible.
You just have to trust the camera and press the shutter.
Most settings are fairly automatic.
I leave ISO and shutter speed to the camera, adjusting only the aperture and exposure‑compensation dial.
Back when I shot with Leica, I thought, “If you want to shoot in a flash, this is it.”
To enjoy photography in daily life, you really want to shoot without overthinking things.

Q. What’s your favorite TOKYO GRAPHER product and why?
A. It’s the cinematicDF s. Because it’s such a distinctive filter, I find that using it to even out differences between lenses gives a consistent look to my images.
Q. What changes do you notice in the view when looking through the filter?
A. While the memory of what you saw is important, I feel you can capture images that are closer to the memories stored in your mind.

Q. What’s your ideal shooting style or way to spend time?
A. My dream is to camp while taking slow, fixed‑point shots, haha.
